Poet, author, and literary critic Christian Johann Heinrich Heine (1797 – 1856) had
everything going for him in the literary world until his radical politics moved the German
authorities to ban his works – which made him even more popular. He lived out the last 25
years of his life in Paris, possibly regretting nothing.
