About the Author
Kwame Alexander is an award-winning children's book author and poet. His Book-in-a-Day writing and publishing program for upper elementary, middle, and high school students has created more than 2500 student authors in 50 schools across the U.S., and in Canada and the Caribbean. He lives with his family in Herndon, Virginia.
