About the Author
William Baker is Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of English at Northern Illinois University, USA. He edits George Eliot - George Henry Lewes Studies and co-edits the Year's Work in English Studies. He has authored and edited more than twenty-five books, including Wilkie Collins: A Chronology (2007) and Harold Pinter (2008). His co-edited Facts on File Companion to Shakespeare, 5 vols was a Library Journal "Book of the Year".
